Time to warm up with some of the best looks in jackets this season. From puffa jackets, to militarist, tweed to pattern and whatever your choice, you will be spoilt. Jackets are more outgoing than ever before, featuring both unusual and traditional cuts and each piece this season will work to complement the other as layering has had a big part to play.

The most recognisable colours for men this winter featured hues of deep red, forest browns and royal greys, with various tones of black making an appearance. As any wannabe sartorialist fashion follower knows, the fashion seasons work in advance – fashion designers have already set their sights on what wares they can create and peddle come the winter months. In the fashion press, the puffa resurgence has not gone unnoticed, clearly demonstrating the key selling point of a good puffa jacket: warmth.

High fashion designers have put forward a bid to resurrect the puffa-style, with collections by Rick Owens, Lanvin, Balmain and DKNY all featuring puffa jackets at AW12 Fashion Weeks. As with any other timeless garment, you’re not investing in a trend piece which will be wearable for a couple of seasons.

Heritage was the name of the game, as the British countryside was the major influence in many wardrobes.
