Religion: Rock Star Attitude

Religion Clothing.....
Religion was founded in 1989 in East London’s edgy fashion epicentre. It originally offered a range of niche t-shirts and sweatshirts aimed at the rave scene and drug culture. Religion rooted itself into early club culture, being prominent in some major club openings, including Space and Pacha and firmly rooted itself to early club culture; when music was chemically inspired and beliefs were publicly expressed on statement tees.
The brand expanded from a relatively unknown and underground label, to a well established and unique brand with an international presence. Religion’s blend of anarchic graphics and commercial attributes has pushed the brand to the forefront of the fashion and media spotlight. It’s ‘no fear policy’ of experimenting with design techniques, washes and trends has given the brand its diverse appeal; distressed garments with a rock star edge

Religion also takes inspiration from lyrical quotes and icons from the music industry as evidenced by the rock and anarchic printed tees – which are a staple of each new collection. The brand’s aesthetic is a distressed style with a rock-star attitude.

Signature and trademark designs of cut-out styles, washed-out graphics and destroyed fabrics have made it a popular look within the youthful fashion market.

The brand also has a host of celebrity fans, including The Pussycat Dolls, Girls Aloud, Kate Moss, Kylie Minogue, Agyness Deyn and Jordin Spark.  Their rock inspired brand aesthetic has made them popular amongst clubbers and the younger generation who have a love of fashion with an edge. Expect more collections filled with distressed and shredded pieces with an anarchic edge unique to the Religion brand photographed out and about in Religion garments.
