Be a Tart

The Tartan Trend 2012
Fashion designers are wild about tartan and plaid and they are making a statement by resurrecting it into the fashion scene for the winter –to-spring  2012 season.
Plaids have been coming and going for years and now they're back to enchant our eyes but with a little bit of a twist as fashion designers have increased their versatility by going bold with colours so when designers as diverse as Rag &Bone and Sonia Rykiel fill their runways with plaid, there’s a good chance you’ll want to give checks a chance come next spring.
The Scottish staple’s come a long way since the last time you went back-to-school shopping: Isabel Marant’s covered hers with silver zippers, while Thakoon’s gone bright and puffy. For something new, check out the debut runway show from Pringle of Scotland. This Autumn/winter 2011-2012 season prepare to be defeated by the amazing detailed plaids that dominated the fashion scene.
Nowadays plaids aren't stopping at just shirts; they are used for everything from accessories to skirts, coats and trousers. The fun and fierce design of the plaid takes towards a vintage, statement style that will most definitely draw attention.
Plaids have always expressed casualness, but it seems that designers have managed a way to make them a part of more elegant pieces such as dresses and skirt suits.
Designers have tried their best to make the plaids exude femininity and elegance and their efforts definitely paid-off as you can now dress them up or dress them down depending on the event you're attending. Plaid accessories such as scarves, jackets, shoes or handbags can make a difference and give your look a boost of sophistication.
Amid all the plaid on the runways, windowpane checks have been a welcome variation. Oscar de la Renta, Lamb, Ashisa included it in the plaid inspired collection and for Burberry Prorsum joined it for the boys in an array of coats.
The diversity of the plaid is amazing, so no wonder that the 2012 season they are bringing the joy into fashion. And for the men, the plaid shirt is still right on the top of the trend.
